Galilee Day One - Arbel, Korazin, Capernaum

OK, that was a pretty fast 24 hours. Sorry for the news blackout. We are safely settled into the Ein Gev resort on the east side of the Sea of Galilee, a change from our itinerary (we will not be at Nof Ginosar). Our rooms are within a stone's throw from the water - desirable in our hometown, but not here. For a Galilean, this sea is the abyss, a source of life, but also a source of fear.

Our first day started with a drive up the eastern shore, around the northern shore (Joshua-like, we crossed the Jordan, but set up stones only with our memories), then down the western shore to just north of Tiberias. To Mt. Arbel.

Joanie and Josh, on the road to Arbel with Tiberias in the background, waiting for what comes next.

Made it to the top!

Where we started. If you look carefully, you can see our bus in the middle of the picture, where it dropped us off.

Will, doing his best imitation of a Rodin.

Insulah, Korazin style. RVL thinks Jesus would have preached surrounded, in these tight quarters. No wonder those men of faith broke through the roof!

Deep thoughts from Brian at the synagogue in Capernaum.

RVL taught us, until dark, at the likely spot of the Beatitudes. We left a memorial to those whose faith were standing stones in our faith lives.
We miss all of you. Sending our love from the home of the One who loved us all.
Peace, KTR
