awesome day 8!

Today was awesome! we started the day by hiking to the Jordan River. It wasn't much at all like I was expected. It was alot smaller than I've seen in the pictures from Jesus day...at least in the picture Bible. In all seriousness, the experience was amazing. the crisp clean rushing water was unbelieveable. Just to think that I have been soaked in the same river that Jesus was is unreal. The restof the day was aewsome including a visit to the largest Tel in all of Israel...77 LAYERS OF DIFFERENT CIVILIZATIONS! I have learned so much it is amazing!

I hope everything is going well!

Caleb! wow i would have loved to be with you in the Jordan..what an unbelievable experience...it is fun to see the picture of you in the river on the blog(ps you used some stellar adjectives describing that water:)...my hope is that someday i can be there with you--how awesome to be able to be in the waters were Our Rabbi was! thats just mind-boggling...I miss you so much here at home..its a quieter place without you to hang out with every night! I miss you and have been praying for you to soak up all the richness that you are surrounded by and the experience and for strength as you hike and walk so far and help others along! You are a light and a bright one at that--i can't wait to hear stories and learn from your time in the Holy Land...Remember i love you always and can't wait to see you!

Caleb,

I helped Dad write a past comment...have to keep everyone's grammar sharp, right? This time it's just from me. We miss having you around here, telling your painfully facetious jokes and pithy, I mean politic, remarks. There's a sense of vacuity all through the house. Don't try to allay my concerns about your temerity by not telling me all the dangerous feats you've accomplished. I am sure you've meandered into a plethora of adventures, growing in wisdom and stature (what about those biceps in the photo..a real puissant. Don't go pulverzing Ben at the end of a hard day at his most pulsillanimous moment. Just refrain from being too obstreperous or too obsequious.

Seriously, I am very excited to hear about your days together with Ben and Emily, walking where Jesus walked (Our Bible story books really need editing for accuracy!) I love that you tasted the wheat grains and brushed through the thicket with Ben and climbed the mountain to pray. You'll likely do that often in your life.

Well, keep your heart and mind engaged in an equipoise of study and thoughtful meditaion about what is true and what you believe. Don't lose that quality of deep cerebration you're so known for. and remember, no chicanery, and try to leave off the cantankerous, bellicose behavior.

The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make His face shine upon you...and give you peace, and give you peace, and give you peace forever.

The Lord be gracious to you. The Lord turn His face toward you...and give you peace, and give you peace, and give you peace forever.

I love you, Mom

P.S. Sorry, Caleb. I don't know what came over me. The SAT's coming up.

P.S.S. Ben, help Caleb with his triskcaidekaphobia. He's really trying to overcome it.
